"Get away from her, you bitch!"
Description: Sigourney Weaver as Ellen Ripley directs a deadly warning at an attacking alien creature in the classic sci-fi movie Aliens (1986).
Ripley is the lone survivor of the deep space mining ship Nostromo massacre that was committed by a vicious alien creature found on the desolate planetoid LV-426.
"Final report of the commercial starship Nostromo, third officer reporting. The other members of the crew, Kane, Lambert, Parker, Brett, Ash and Captain Dallas, are dead. Cargo and ship destroyed. I should reach the frontier in about six weeks. With a little luck, the network will pick me up. This is Ripley, last survivor of the Nostromo, signing off."
Rescued and revived from stasis after drifting for fifty-seven years in space, Ripley is interviewed by her employers, the Wyaland-Yutani Corporation, and they cancel her space flight license on the grounds of "questionable judgment."
Later, when the corporation loses contact with a group on terra-formers sent to LV-426, Ripley is asked to help with a rescue mission. For her assistance, the company would reinstate Ripley's flight status. Since her suspension, Ripley had found work as a cargo loader and the idea of getting back her flight license pleased here, but she suspects the real reason the corporation has lost contact and pointedly asks, “You’re going out there to destroy them, right? Not to study, not to bring back, but to wipe them out?”
The corporation promises they will not capture any of the aliens for study and will instead destroy them. With that reassurance, Ripley agrees to join the mission.
Unfortunately, her so-called benefactors lied. Their true intention is to capture one of the aliens they believe are still on the planetoid and use its potent defenses as a stepping stone for developing newer, deadlier bio-weapons technology on Earth. Carter Burke (Paul Rieser), a representive from the Wayland-Yutani group is assigned to the mission to acquire one of the alien embryos, even if he has to kill everyone in the process.
As the rescue force lands on LV-426, a crew of Colonial Marines is dispatched to reconnoiter. The landing party soon discovers that the personnel sent to the planetoid have been harvested as a food source and placed in web-like storage cocoons. The only survivor is a little girl named Newt (Carrie Henn).
After their first dropship is destroyed by an attacking alien, Bishop (Lance Henriksen), an android begins to manuever the second dropship down to the planet to escape before the planetoid's damaged thermonuclear-powered processing station explodes.
While they wait for the second dropship, Burke releases two alien embryos hoping that they will attach themselves to Ripley and Newt as they sleep in the medical laboratory. Luckily, Ripley and Newt escape and the marines kill the slithering embryos. But their problems are not over when suddenlyu the electricty shuts off and a group of alien soldiers attack.
|Ripley:||They grab the colonists, they move them over there and they immobilize them to be hosts for more of these. Which would mean that there would have to be a lot of these parasites, right? One for each colonist. That's over a hundred at least.|
|Bishop:||Yes, that follows.|
|Ripley:||But each one of these things comes from an egg, right? So who's laying these eggs?|
|Bishop:||I'm not sure. It must be something we haven't seen yet.|
As the landing party battle the horde of attacking aliens, most of the marines as well as Burke are killed. When Newt is captured and cocooned, Ripley refuses to leave and rescues her, but not before destroying a nursery of alien eggs with a flame thrower overseen by a huge alien queen.
The destruction of the alien eggs infuriates the queen alien who rips her body free from her egg-laying appendage, gives chase and manages to attach herself to the body of Ripley’s rescue craft as the planetoid below is destroyed by a nuclear blast.
Thinking they are safe, Ripley, Newt, Bishop, and injured Corporal Dwayne Hicks (Michael Biehn), the suviving Colonial Marine squad leader return to the warhsip Sulaco unaware of the deadly stowaway.
As the alien queen reappers, she impales Bishop with her tail, tearing him in half. Then the queen makes a move to kill Newt, but Ripley climbs into a cargo loading exo-skeleton and lures the alien away from Newt, by shouting, “Get away from her, you bitch.”
In a final battle, Ripley bashes the alien queen with the arms of the exo-skelton, depressurizes an air-lock, and flushes the alien into space. Then, Ripley, Newt, Hicks and the damaged but functioning Bishop enter hypersleep chambers for their return to Earth.
