"This is hell, and I’m going to give you the guided tour."
Description: - Donald Sutherland as sadistic prison warden Drumgoole offers a deadly greeting to prisoner Frank Leone (Sylvester Stallone) in the motion picture Lock Up (1989).
Frank Leone, an auto mechanic, is a prisoner at Norwood prison, a low security facility. He has a short time left on his sentence, but suddenly he is transferred to Gateway Prison, a hell-hole controlled by Drumgoole who wants to make Frank's life miserable and get even with him for a prior public humiliation.
Frank had escaped from Treadmore prison (to see his dying father) and later revealed to the media that its warden, Drumgoole was mistreating the prisoners. Consequently, Drumgoole was sent to Gateway and Frank was allowed to serve out the rest of his prior sentence at Norwood.
"You'll be issued one bar of soap, two rolls of toilet paper for a month! Somebody steals... TURN your ass around! Somebody steals them or you lose them, you WILL be wiping your ass with your shirt! You have one uniform! Your number is five one zero! REMEMBER it! This is C wing! You will eat, shower, and take yard time with your wing! There's six counts a day! You miss one, you're in the hole! Miss two, and I'll personally put you in the house of pain!" - Captain Meissner
With Frank in his power once again, Drumgoole wishes to break his spirit, but Frank tells his captors, "You can't break me!" Frank knows that while his body must be in the prison, his mind can be anywhere. And so Frank uses that philosophy to endure the tortures the warden inflicts upon him, including organizing yard brawls, trashing Frank's Mustang auto project and devising a plan for Frank to escape jail to save his girlfriend from being raped, only to be arrested again and thrown back in prison for ten more years.
Finally enraged, Frank drags Drumgoole to the electric chair in the facilty and threatens to fry the warden, if he does not confess to his crimes before an viewing audience. The warden spill his guts to save his life and Frank is released from prison and into the arms of his girlfriend Melissa (Darlanne Fluegel).
Note: In the film Shawshank Redemption (1994) Warden Norton (Bob Gunton) concludes his meeting with a fresh batch of inmates saying, “Put your trust in the Lord....your ass belongs to me. Welcome to Shawshank.”
